Pre-registration Opens for the 9th Rally Costa Smeralda Storico – Trofeo Martini

The event, organized by the Automobile Club Sassari, took its first steps by unveiling the highly anticipated 2026 edition during the Racing Meeting. At the Vicenza event, the opening of pre-registrations was announced for both the historic rally and the average speed race, which will kick off the category championship.

Porto Cervo, February 12, 2026 – Last Saturday and Sunday were two days in which the 9th Rally Costa Smeralda Storico – Trofeo Martini played a major role in the increasingly prestigious Racing Meeting exhibition, expertly orchestrated by Miki Biasion. Also in this latest edition of the show at the Fiera di Vicenza, the Automobile Club Sassari welcomed distinguished guests and numerous enthusiasts to its stand, including drivers who were thus able to learn about previews of the race scheduled for April 24th and 25th. This news was officially unveiled by engineer Edoardo Di Lauro during the A112 Abarth Trophy prize-giving ceremony held early Saturday afternoon.

Along with data on the total length of the special stages – a full 157 timed kilometers over the two legs – the manager highlighted the newly acquired validity for the FIA European Historic Rally Championship for “pre-1992” cars, a factor that will certainly lead to an increase in participants. Therefore, the pre-registration procedure for the historic rally and the regularity rally has been implemented. This is a necessary step, especially considering that the structure of the two race days will allow for a strictly defined number of crews to be admitted to the event.

In addition to the European Championship, the Costa Smeralda rally also counts as a valid round for the Italian Historic Rally Championship and the Classic Car Championship. Added to these are the private initiatives of the A112 Abarth Trophy and, new for 2026, the Memory Fornaca, a trophy dedicated to the memory of Nino Fornaca, a figure who gave so much to the world of rallying.

National titles are also at stake for the two races – Average 60 and Average 50 – of the historic regularity rally, with the top national series kicking off right here at the Costa Smeralda, adding yet another reason to be part of the action on April 24th and 25th in Porto Cervo.

Present in Vicenza for the two days of the show, the President of AC Sassari, Giulio Pes di San Vittorio, takes the opportunity to renew his thanks to the institutions, starting from the Region of Sardinia, to the administrations of Olbia and Arzachena and all the municipalities involved; gratitude is extended to the event’s consolidated partners such as Smeralda Holding, Sparco, Martini, Cerasarda, Pirelli, Testoni Bunker Point, Sardares, Cantine Surrau, and the Autoplus Group.
